Added LightBox.NET to photo album

I added LightBox.NET to the Photos page. Check it out and let me know what you think. I'm thinking of adding the ability to turn the LiteBox feature On or Off for administrators. For now, the feature will not be in the latest version of my site as I'm currently testing this functionality.

Jeremy, Really like the LightBox! Keep it ON all the time. I use it at my website too. I am curious as to how you incorporated the LightBox in to your code. I have been manually entering in the a href tags for each image on my site (very time comsuming), but wanted to go with a design similar to yours (and the starter template at msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vwd/) where the images are dynamic and you simply dump them into a folder.

Blihzis, are your photos being loaded dynamically?

No they are not loaded dynamically. If I am not mistaken, the images are kept on the database, right? A friend of mine said GoDaddy.com can only hold 100MB of data on a database. I would love to get a website like yours where I can manage a blog page, guestbook page, add pics dynamically, and where I get emails back when someone posts. I have seen your template, but I don't want to copy your site, and it's confusing because I have seen your template code, but I want to keep my site using CSS.

I really like the LightBox. A feature to turn it on and off would be awesome! Could we see some code to start with?

When are you going to incorporate into the downloadable site code? I really like to also have the robust membership code incorporated to the downloadable code; pleeeeeeeeeeeeese.

Bryan, I use Jeremys code and GoDaddy. I have several Gig of photos in my gallery no problem. Jeremy, Would really like a really simple feature. The ability to 'hide' a post until I have finished editing and am ready to publish it. Probably would require a change to the database? I like the changes you made so far. I see the comments are on the page with the blog entry as well. I predict you will need to add the CAPATCHA soon. Those spammers are looking for anywhere to post that is searched by Google. Looking forward to an update. Hope your new house is treating you well and the baby is doing good.

Oh, one other suggestion. This comment box is using my login name as the name. Wouldn't it be better to use the name/alias I enter in the box below? Non-validated users can leave any alias why not me?

I have changed the comments to use whatever is in the Name box first. I'm not sure when I'll have that update in my code. I'm so very busy with work and family.

Jeremy, I have been implementing the lightbox.net on the PWS but I am encountering a problem that maybe you have seen and overcome. in the line "<" lbn:HyperLink ImageUrl="handler.ashx?PhotoID="<"%# Eval("PhotoID") %">" I get and not formed control. did you run into that problem or is it my idea on the implementation??

Wash, I can send you the exact code I use. If you email me using the email address that your approval email was sent with when you registered on my site, I'll respond with the code.

However, to convey the message of presented data effectively, it’s important to offer it in an attractive and intuitive way. Furthermore, the presentation itself can make images more valuable and simplify the browsing through hundreds of slides.

If you have included the images that you do not wish to be in the css web site album, you can easily remove them. Select all images that you wish to remove from web site album, and select Delete images. from the Images menu. You can pick and choose pictures by holding the CTRL while clicking the pictures you like.

The example above is an in-page usage demo of Lightbox. The jQuery gallery created with Visual Lightbox is placed inside the page layout. You can also check the full-page demo gallery. This example takes whole browser area to show the photo gallery.

eah I am wondering this myself. I am thinking this is one of the more popular applications of LIghtbox Gone Wild, and perhaps not possible? Even the particletree demo only loads some stupid nipple picture on submitting the form. I haven't found an example that actually transmits info to a processing page. It's kind of frustrating, because if there were a solution it would save everyone time by posting it and if there isn't why the hell don't they just say that on the frickin site? I've wasted a day now messing around with the code and searching google. How bout a little respect for your developer community Particletree? sheesh!
